Middlebury Stroke Awareness Walk Recap

As we approach 2024, it's time to reflect on the 2023 event that launched Stroke Awareness Vermont. On Saturday, October 28th, we held our first ever Stroke Awareness Walk in Middlebury in conjunction with World Stroke Day on the 29th.

For the first year, when neither of us had any experience with organizing a walk like this, we were a small but mighty crew who circled through Middlebury twice, handing out educational materials and giving a face to stroke survivors and family members and caregivers.

We were excited to meet local stroke survivors and hear their stories, and in addition to the wonderful connections that were made, we raised $250 for the Vermont chapter of the American Stroke Association!

Thank you so much to all who attended and contributed, especially Jenna and Katie from the UVM Medical Center Stroke Program! We are already thinking ahead to our second walk in 2024!

Please enjoy some pictures from this year's walk. Additionally we are grateful to the Addison Independent newspaper for covering the event. You can read the article at https://www.addisonindependent.com/2023/10/26/trent-campbell-shares-his-journey-for-world-stroke-day/
